As part of the GDPR changes on May 25th, 2018 we've made changes to our AE Service Terms of Use. Like every other web service on the planet. Talk about a Terms and Conditions gluttony.
The GDPR is a set of new rules to make data safer, plus it makes businesses more open and transparent with how they’ll use customer data. We couldn’t agree more with these changes. One of our core values is Be Trustworthy. Privacy is a big deal to us.
Our New Terms of Use Section
We've added a new section to our Terms of Use called Annex A – General Data Protection Regulation Data Processing Addendum.
The short and sweet is:
- AE is the Data Processor
- You are the Customer (the customer of the AE service)
AE never owns or sells your data that lives inside AE. That's the basic principal of AE being a Data Processor. We're hands off and only filter and store your data, for you to use for your marketing and communications work.
GDPR for Everyone
These changes will impact anyone who has customers in Europe. Since we’re a global platform, everyone using AE is going to be GDPR ready. We want everyone who uses our service to have the tools they need to get their job done.
